The Nissan Rogue is a Top Safety Pick!

It is now official! The 2009 Nissan Rogue has earned the Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety! You always knew that the Nissan Rogue is a vehicle you can drive with your eyes closed; now, this rating affirms your belief that this is a vehicle you can drive without the fear of the road!
At this test conducted by Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, the Rogue was up against nine other small SUVs. All these vehicles were assessed the degree of safety they gave passengers for front, side and rear crashes. As the result shows, the Rogue came up trumps!
The Top Safety Pick award is given to vehicles that offer superior overall crash protection to its passengers and driver. Only those vehicles that are equipped with electronic stability control are taken up for this test. Your Rogue, however, comes with Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) as well!
Let us tell you more about the innovative safety features that have made the Nissan Rogue an award winner: it comes with more safety features than can be imagined. It gives you multiple standard air bags, a part of the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) that comes with dual stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and an occupant classification sensor; vehicle dynamic control with a traction control system; a standard Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS); roof-mounted curtain supplemental side-impact air bags for front-and rear-seat occupant head protection and driver/passenger seat belt warning lamps.
It also has standard front seat belts with LATCH; child seat anchors and tether system; front seats with active head restraints; Zone Body Construction with front and rear crumple zones to help disperse crash energy away from the passenger compartment, and pretensioners and load limiters.
