Launched in 2004, the Nissan Titan pickup lineup expands for 2008 with the addition of two new long bed configurations and a new PRO-4X grade, which is available in both King Cab and Crew Cab four-wheel-drive standard bed configurations. In addition, the 2008 Nissan Titan features revised front styling with a new grille and light design, a redesigned brake system with larger front rotors, a variety of interior and technology enhancements, and larger wheel sizes, including 20-inch alloy wheels on the Titan LE models.
Power and Performance
Titan is built on Nissan's rugged F-Alpha pickup platform, featuring a powerful 5.6-liter DOHC Endurance V-8 engine rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft. torque. It features a standard 5-speed automatic transmission and a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds for King Cab and 9,400 pounds for Crew Cab.
Body and Styling
Titan is now available in two body styles: King Cab and Crew Cab; in 4x2 and 4x4 drive configurations; four bed sizes: 5 feet 6 inches, 6 feet 6 inches, 7 feet 3 inches, and 8 feet 2 inches; and with Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) capability (E85 Ethanol) in select markets. The 2008 Titan, with its freshened styling, new wheel styles, new seat design, refined meter clusters, and available features such as a Bluetooth hands-free phone system, an XM satellite radio tuner, heated leather-appointed bench seats, and a larger 8.0-inch DVD screen, offers more choice and greater value than ever before.
Safety Features
Titan comes loaded with a number of safety features such as anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, stability control, and much more. It earned five-stars for driver protection in frontal impacts and four-stars for passenger protection in the NHTSA crash tests and a rating of “Good” during the IIHS frontal-offset crash testing.
