2023 Nissan Pathfinder vs 2023 Buick Enclave

2023 Nissan Pathfinder vs 2023 Buick Enclave

Overview

The Enclave and Pathfinder SUVs are made by two companies that are no strangers to competition. Both models are luxurious, powerful, and appeal to the discerning drivers, but which one is better?

Trims and Exterior Dimensions

There are five 2023 Nissan Pathfinder trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum. With any style, the SUV is 70.9 inches tall and 78.8 inches wide. The Buick Enclave comes in three trims: Essence, Premium, and Avenir, and it is 69.9 inches tall and 77.9 inches wide. It might be a little more difficult to get into and out of the Buick Enclave in a congested parking lot because the Nissan is a touch broader and taller.

Engine and Performance

A 3.5-liter V-6 engine in the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder generates 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, while a 3.6-liter V-6 engine in the 2023 Buick Enclave generates 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. However, the Enclave can only tow up to 5,000 pounds, whereas the Pathfinder has a maximum towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. The Pathfinder delivers greater fuel economy with 23 combined mpg, from 20 city and 27 highway mpg. The Buick has an EPA-estimated combined city and highway mpg of 21.

Safety Features

Both the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder and 2023 Buick Enclave are equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies like lane departure warnings, automatic emergency braking, and front collision warning. However, the Pathfinder also comes equipped with rear automated emergency braking on all editions. In this comparison, the Nissan Pathfinder triumphs due to greater towing capability and efficiency, more trim levels, and useful safety features.
