If your compressor is failing, it can't move air through the system as fast as it used to. When you accelerate, the serpentine belt moves faster, which spins the pulley faster and forces the compressor to work harder. Noises From the AC A healthy AC doesn't make any sound except for the sound of air blowing into the cabin and a tiny click at regular intervals as the compressor switches on and off. Rustling noises are usually made by dirt or leaves that were drawn in through the air intake and are now trapped in the ducts. Rattling and clunking could mean a more serious issue, as they suggest something metallic is loose. They could be caused by broken compressor bearings or other damaged components. Fan Problems Air enters the AC, and the heat and water are removed, then the air is chilled and blown into your cabin. The blower motor controls the fans and blows the air into your cabin. The fan blades are delicate and can easily be damaged by stones or other hard objects thrown up from the road. Broken or damaged fans will prevent air from blowing into the cabin. It takes place in the cylinders and requires fuel, air, and ignition by the spark plug. As your Nissan d ealership, we'd like you to know some of the causes of an engine misfiring. more Advice From Your Nissan Dealership: Some Causes of Engine Misfiring Incorrect Fuel-Air Mixture Fuel and air combine to form the mixture that powers combustion. The reason for this is fuel is very explosive, but generating and sustaining the spark that ignites the mixture requires a large amount of air. The correct ratio of air to fuel is 14:1. A blocked engine air filter, a dirty intake manifold, or a faulty O2 sensor can all cause a higher level of fuel to air. In this situation, your engine becomes fuel-rich. The lack of air makes spark plug failure more likely, and this directly causes misfiring. We'll examine your engine to identify the cause of the problem, and then we'll repair it. Emission Equipment Failure Vehicle emissions can be a major source of airborne pollution. The cylinder must remain airtight for the mixture to compress successfully. Any damage to the piston or the cylinder, for example, a hole in the cylinder or a worn piston head, can allow more air into the cylinder.
