The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is the latest incarnation of this highly-popular mid-size SUV. Now in its fourth generation, the Pathfinder has steadily grown in size and capabilities over the years. We’d like to guide you through some of the features of one of the best-selling SUVs in the US.
Engine and Drivetrain
The 2023 Pathfinder is powered by an all-new 3.5 liter V6 engine with 284hp and 259 lbs of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, and the engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new engine and transmission combination is fast and ultra-responsive. You also have the option to upgrade to an all-wheel drive with all trim levels.
All-wheel drive delivers the same power, combined with a seven-mode driving selector. This selector helps the transmission to make short work of sand, mud, and other annoying off-road conditions. In addition, the Rock Creek trim option gives you extra power with 295hp and 270 lbs of torque.
Trim Levels
The Pathfinder has five trim levels: S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum.
S
The S is the standard variant, with 18″ wheels, three-zone automatic climate control, manual reclining second and third-row seats, and cloth upholstery. Also included is a six-speaker audio system, 8″ touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and two USB Ports.
SV
This model adds heated side mirrors, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are also a variety of optional extras, including a power liftgate, towing equipment, and a panoramic sunroof.
SL
The SL includes the SV modifications and adds leather upholstery, a 9″ information display, second-row sunshades, a third USB port, and a surround-view camera system. Options include a 13-speaker Bose audio system, 20″ wheels, and a sunroof.
Rock Creek
This version adds numerous off-road features to the SV version. All-terrain tires, a tow hitch, crossbars, roof rails, and an off-road-tuned suspension are all standard equipment. Synthetic leather upholstery with heated second-row seats add extra touches of luxury.
Platinum
The ultimate version includes a head-up display, two more USB ports, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, and ventilated front seats. Rain-sensing wipers, driver seat memory function, and a hands-free power liftgate round out the added features.
Fuel Economy
For an SUV, the Pathfinder is very economical. It rates 20MPG in the city and 27MPG on the highway. The all-wheel drive option meets these same standards of efficiency.
Safety
All versions include a standard safety system called Safety Shield 360. It includes emergency braking, lane departure, driver alertness, and pedestrian detection.
