3 Italian Restaurants Near Waipahu, HI

Assaggio Mililani

Visit this cozy spot at 95–1249 Meheula Pkwy in Mililani for Italian-American classics, and a romantic, dining experience. They also have an excellent bar that is well stocked, but if you do enjoy a few drinks, please be sure to drink responsibly and never drink and drive. Alcohol is only for those of the legal drinking age.
We recommend you be sure to start out with their artichoke peperonata. Once you’re past the appetizer stage, the minestrone is very good, and bay shrimp salad is a great option, too. The fresh tomato salad is perfect for a hot day, though you also can’t go wrong with the caprese and the fresh buffalo mozzarella. For pasta, choose from their linguine, vegetable, or potato options, and try the pork sausage, the sausage olio, or the amazing Pomodoro sauce.

Catania Ristorante Italiano

Located at 98-020 Kamehameha Hwy in Aiea, in the Waimalu Shopping Center, Catania Ristorante Italiano prides itself on serving locally crafted Italian food. This restaurant has been a part of the downtown community for the past 20 years, but its main location has now moved to the Waimalu Shopping Center, offering both dine-in and take-out options. They also have a secondary location at Pioneer Plaza in Fort Street Mall Downtown, albeit with a smaller menu.
We’re going to have to recommend the calamari parmigiana especially here, which is topped with mozzarella and their house marinara sauce. The chicken pesto is also out of the world: you could be forgiven if you can’t stop eating the creamy pesto sauce. Leave room for dessert, though. The Kahlua cheesecake is to die for.
